Oasis on Orangewood
Glendale, Arizona. Hosting Community Members now. Our first home.

Oasis on Orangewood sits on a family property in Glendale. A barn on the land was rebuilt into two apartments beside the host family's home. The property is gated, with laundry on site and a shared patio.
Meet the host family
Dan and Skylar Stephens and their four children live on the property and host Oasis on Orangewood. Joe and Sheryl Stephens are part of the host family too, and live off-site. Dan and Skylar are passionate about serving the Lord, and eager to use the skills and talents God has given them to walk with others through life.
Who it is for
Oasis on Orangewood is for people in a transitional season of life who want to grow in their faith. Most are young adults. We can also arrange shorter stays, such as a summer stay for students or a home for missionaries on furlough. Most Community Members stay between six months and two years.
Every Community Member takes part in one-on-one discipleship. It is the heart of Oasis, and it is part of the Community Member Agreement.
Living here
- A private apartment or a shared one. Roommates are always the same sex, unless they are siblings, and every Community Member signs their own agreement.
- Basic furnishings: a bed, dresser, nightstand, seating, an eating area, and basic kitchenware, with patio furniture outside. We talk through your furniture needs before you move in.
- A program fee that starts well below what housing costs locally and steps up in stages as you grow, paid monthly or every two weeks.
- One-on-one discipleship with a host at least every other week for your whole stay, beginning with the study Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby.
- A monthly self-assessment of the goals you set when you arrive, reviewed together with a host.
- Shared meals, Bible study, prayer and worship nights, neighborhood outreach, and work alongside trusted local churches.
- A community workday once a month, three hours at most, caring for the spaces everyone shares.
Welcome and farewell
On move-in day a welcome package is waiting: a personal card, a Bible, the Experiencing God workbook, and a small gift. We help you move in, and we share a welcome meal.
When it is time to go, we send you off well, with a farewell gift, a goodbye meal, and help moving. Before you leave, you sign your name on a brick in the patio, building a remembrance of God's faithfulness.
