Oasis Discipleship Homes is a ministry of Oasis on Orangewood, a 501(c)(3) public charity in Glendale, Arizona ("Oasis," "we," "us"). This page explains what we collect on oasisdiscipleshiphomes.org, why, and what we do with it. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
What we collect, and why
When you fill out the prescreening form. Your name, email, phone, gender (used only to match roommates), the space you need, how many people would live with you, your hoped-for move-in date, and what you choose to tell us about your story, your hardships, and your hopes. We use it only to consider you for the Oasis program. The form is sent by email, through our email delivery service, to our host family's inboxes; this website keeps no copy. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.
When you apply by invitation. The full application runs through our online application service and its background and credit check services, which charge a $50 non-refundable fee. Their own privacy policies cover what they collect. We receive the results to decide on your application.
When you write to us or ask for a visit. Your name, email, and message, used to answer you.
When you ask for our public records. Your email address, used to send you a link to the documents. The link expires.
When you join the Hillside Oasis list. Your email address, used to tell you when Hillside Oasis takes applications or has news. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
When you give. Our payment processor, Stripe, handles your card or bank details; we never see or store your card number. We receive your name, email, gift amount, and any address you provide, and we use them to thank you, to send your annual giving statement, and to keep the records the law requires of a charity. Stripe emails a receipt for each gift, including each month's gift when you give monthly.
When you visit the site. We measure visits with Matomo, an analytics tool that runs on a server operated for us, not by an advertising company. It sets no cookies and shortens your IP address before storing it. It tells us which pages are read and how visitors found us. Detailed visit logs are deleted after six months, and backup copies within 30 days after that; only summary counts are kept. Our web host, Cloudflare, also processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Emails we send. We send email through MailerSend and, for the Hillside Oasis list, MailerLite. These services may record whether an email was opened and which links in it were clicked. We use that only to see whether our emails are reaching people and being read.
Who we share it with
Only the services named above, each to do its job for us: Cloudflare (hosting), MailerSend and MailerLite (sending email), the email services that hold our inboxes, Stripe (gifts), our online application service and its screening services (applications), and our analytics server. We also share information when the law requires it, or when someone's safety is at risk. We never share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other ministries.
How long we keep it
- Prescreening forms and messages: as long as we are considering you for the program or answering you. If you do not become a Community Member, we delete a prescreening form within twelve months.
- Records for Community Members: for your time in the program, and afterward as long as the law requires.
- Gift records: seven years, which is how long we keep our financial records.
- Public records requests: your email address, ninety days.
- The Hillside Oasis list: until you unsubscribe or the list closes.
Children
Our forms are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Write to [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from any email list at any time.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, keep access to the people who need it, and do not store form submissions on this website. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send anything by email or form that you would not want a stranger to read.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
